Hello,

my name is...

Constance !

About me...

My name is Constance Tamon and I was born in West Cameroon, Africa. As a young girl, I witnessed my parents, who were a little more privileged than others in the community, investing themselves in helping the less privileged. I have worked both in Africa and USA in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries while simultaneously engaged in developing entrepreneurial and community-based programs to help women/youths.

In 2006, during a visit to my homeland in Bamenda, Cameroon, I saw firsthand the devastating effects of the HIV pandemic on my once thriving community.  Having shared this with my church family they graciously stepped in and organized an orphan sponsorship program, providing school supplies and basic needs to 214 orphans.

Returning to Bamenda, in 2009, the virus was sweeping away the workforce with vengeance, leaving the land bare and greatly increasing the number of destitute children.  My heart had a burning desire to advocate for my people and Heart of Compassion Ministries Intl., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was formed to address the great need.

During my last trip to Cameroon, in 2017, I witnessed firsthand the deepening civil unrest between the government forces and the Southern Cameroonians which is known as the Anglophone Crisis. Thousands have been displaced and are living in the dense forests/bushes, while others, having fled to neighboring Nigeria, are living as refugees. Thousands of others are also living now in French Cameroon as internally displaced persons.

About HOCMI...

As humble servants of Christ, HOCMI was

founded out of a passion to serve, with love and compassion those in need.

At HOCMI we strive to improve the quality of life for people in Cameroon by raising funds to provide equipment such as sewing machines for skilled women interested in selling clothing or supplying uniforms to school children. We purchased land which we intend to give to needy families interested in agriculture to sustain their livelihood. We intend to provide micro-financing for small business ventures as well as counseling for women, on legal matters, and opportunities for training.

We hope to focus on shared mission and potential pathways with other partners by creating networks for expanding micro-investment methods and cultivating partnerships to benefit the communities. Leaders in business need to cultivate a culture to survive and succeed, given that they, also may, face unprecedented uncertainty and new competitors. Such experiences bring about moments of deep learning, that bring leadership precepts to life. Through this philosophy,we hope that Heart of Compassion Ministries Intl. will eventually achieve its vision of improving the quality of life for women and youths in rural communities in Cameroon.

"In 2006, during a time of recovery from surgery, in my suffering God placed a compassion for the hungry and oppressed. By God's divine appointment Constance and I were brought together to embark on a life changing mission to reach those in need."
